An outer london boarding school for girls and boys suffered major damage to its historical dorm buildings following a roof fire, which needed 50 firefighters to tame it.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) was called to the Duke of York's Royal Military School in Dover following reports of a fire – but luckily no-one was injured as the blaze took place out of term-time.
The fire is rumoured to have started in the roof of one of the empty dormitories, although the cause of the incident is not yet known.
The boarding school kent is a co-educational secondary school open to pupils whose parents are serving or have served in any branch of the armed services at any rank. The school is an executive agency of the Ministry of Defence.
